Python and Research (PyaR): PyaR is a free online Python programming tutorial that is derived from the data analysis software tools used in an 2015 scientific astronomy journal article led by Claire Dorman who is a former PhD student of Raja GuhaThakurta at the University of California Santa Cruz.
Claire and Raja, with the help from UCSC PhD students Emily Cunningham and Amanda Quirk, developed this tutorial via a series of 6 Jupyter notebooks and zoom sessions in order to give participants a way to work alongside the tutorials given at their own pace.
R and Research in Computational Biology (ReComBio): This is similar to the PyaR tutorial described above, except that it teaches the R, programming language (not Python) and it is set within the framework of research in computational biology (not astronomy). ReComBio mentoring sessions are offered by Gepoliano Chaves (U. of Chicago/UCSC). These are some of the projects that are offered.
